The mid-life refresh of the 5th-generation BMW 3-Series will make its world debut at the 2008 Paris Motor Show next month and will start arriving in dealerships shortly after that. We have to say, we’re really impressed what BMW did with the front fascia, hood creases and new taillamps.
Europeans will obviously get a variety of different powertrain choices but when the 2009 3-Series arrives in the U.S., we’ll see the usual 328i and the 300-hp 3.0L twin-turbo charged 335i. The most exciting addition for the new 3-Series will be the 335d, a 3.0L twin-turbo diesel engine that produces 265-hp with a maximum torque of 425 lb-ft. Even with that type of performance the 335d will return a fuel-economy of 23/33mpg (city/highway).
