Volkswagen announced today the new Scirocco GT TDI, a new version of its sporty hatchback which will carry the 2.0-liter TDI engine, found also on the Golf GTD and capable to deliver 170 hp and a maximum torque of 350 Nm.
The new vehicle can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 8.1 seconds while the top speed achieved is 222 km/h. According to the manufacturer, the vehicle will deliver a fuel consumption of 5.3 l/100 km (53.3 mpg) and 139 g.km of CO2. The car is available only with the GT trim level which includes: six-CD autochanger, rain and dusk sensor, multifunction computer and 2 Zone air conditioning. In terms of safety, ABS, ESP (Electronic Stabilisation Program) and six airbags are all standard.
