Besides the Tesla Roadster being a statement piece, we can't seem to figure out why.
It seems like the Tesla is a pretty compromised car, where as the BMW 335d is a better buy when it comes to utility, functionality and comfort. Remember folks, the Tesla is merely a rebodied and stretched Lotus with batteries. This means two things:
1) The Tesla's interior isn't exactly a masterpiece
2) Comfort may be an issue
Oh yeah, and there is only room for two. This is on top of all electric vehicles issues of range anxiety and the amount of time it takes to charge up.
At least in the BMW there is plenty of room to stretch yourself out and enjoy the ride. Now I know a handful of you are probably saying that we're comparing apples and oranges since the Tesla is pseudo exotic. Though I would typically agree with you on this, keep in mind that 001 picked up the BMW as a weekend driver.
With all of this said, we're just curious: what makes the Tesla desirable to you? In addition, why would you shell out the extra coin over a diesel for one?
