The much lauded Nissan GT-R has been out long enough to be pitted against what many consider to be its main arch rival, the Porsche 911 Turbo, by nearly every auto rag. One even threw in a BMW M3 that somehow beat it, and no one's been able to get General Motors to give up a Corvette Z06 to go head-to-head with the GT-R. So what is there left with which to compare Nissan's crowning achievement? Webrides.tv, which produces some of the web's highest quality video comparisons of cars, thought it would be fun to compare the GT-R with Ford's late, great GT supercar. But oh, this isn't just any test of a GT-R against some guy's collectible GT. Both vehicles are owned by none other than Kazunori Yamauchi, the man behind the Gran Turismo series of driving sims. Yamauchi considers the Ford GT to be the most beautiful design in the history of automobiles, and its no slow-poke, either. The folks at Webrides.tv built their own Super Lap track on a stretch of flat asphalt no wider than a two-lane highway to compare the two. The comprehensive way in which they break down the capabilities of each car is a pleasure to watch. Can the 480 hp GT-R take on the 550 hp GT ?
