This week has seen a roller coaster ride of news surrounding the pending fates of the Big Three. Stories ranged from the agreement having enough votes to pass to the other extreme of the proposal falling apart unable to garner enough votes to see its passage.
Opinions and tempers flared on here as well as proponents of both sides voiced opinions that ranged as widely as the headlines prompting the discussions.
As it looks right now, there is no bailout. Of course like the wind, that could change at a moments notice especially as the White House is looking at ways to tap into the 700 Billion Dollars allocated for banks and other financial institutions as a way to save the Big Three from what appears to be a pending doom.
What is interesting throughout this whole process is while you all disagree on a lot of issues regarding the Big Three, the one thing everyone seems to agree on is the need for change.
Since change is the one element everyone agrees on, let's make some changes this weekend. We don't know if Rick Wagoner is a reader here at AutoSpies.com, but here is your chance to offer up the advice you'd give if you were sitting over a cup of coffee at Starbucks.
The fact is GM is producing some quality cars right now across a broad range, however we all know there are some real lemons amongst the ranks.
So the question plays out like this...
Which GM vehicle models do you think are worth saving?
Of course elimination of some models could also spell the end to certain makes within the GM portfolio, so don't be shy about cutting whole divisions as well.
Even if forced into bankruptcy the fact remains GM isn't going anywhere. The company that emerges from bankruptcy will hopefully be a leaner meaner machine capable of producing world class cars that people buy.
Tell GM which models should be kept in an effort to make GM world class.
