The past 24 months for Jeremy Clarkson have been...interesting.

Not only did he have several high profile incidents where he angered people over his usual over-the-top language, but Clarkson also was involved in a highly visible spat when the Top Gear trio and production went to Argentina. There as a flap over license plates.

Whether or not it was an intentional move for the staff to pick those license plates isn't the issue. The issue really is why Argentinians hurdled large objects that could severely injure a person at the crew and, in addition, why the legal professionals over there are still in pursuit of doing damage to members of the show.

These people really have a hard on for Clarkson and are attempting to do damage to him in any way possible.

The latest maneuver is an attempt to press charges on Clarkson for changing plates on the car. These joker state prosecutors in Argentina are now trying to hold the Top Gear staff accountable with a potential sentence for up to three years in prison. Seriously.

Even if these silly South Americans try to actually solidify charges we're 99 percent sure it won't stick. The British government will thumb their nose at the Argentinians and we're doubtful any other nation would try to extradite Clarkson and company should they be filming abroad.

You have to love those silly Argentinians.

...The thing is, after they had realized it was the license plates that had stones pelted at them by an angry crowd (some of them were Falkland war veterans), the BBC team decided to change the plates with a less offending pair. The problem is you can’t do that in any country since it’s illegal. Initially, according to the Telegraph, Maria Cristina Barrionuevo, a judge in the southern city of Ushuaia, had stopped attempts to have the former BBC presenter charged with falsification in April.

Clarkson wasn’t that lucky anymore this time, though, considering state prosecutors appealed Barrionuevo’s decision not to press ahead with a full-scale criminal investigation against Jezza and his former Top Gear team. The other day, the probe was back on and Clarkson and program chiefs are now facing up to three years in prison. Three appeal judges sided with prosecutors and ordered Barrionuevo to reactivate the case.
