Although BMW does not officially make an all-new 8-Series that is technically the early 1990s successor, the closest thing to that today is the landshark, the 6-Series coupe.

And when I came across this very interesting offer -- an BMW 850i with just under 11,500 miles -- I just wondered WHICH I would pick if money wasn't an option and I wanted a good old fashion big body BMW coupe. While an all-new 6-Series is an enticing piece, it just is lacking that special panache that is dripping from the 8-Series.

But you'd get to have a more old-fashioned drive in the early 90s 8-Series.

All that said, what's it going to be? The all-new, tech laden luxocruiser -- the 6 -- OR the spartan, exotic, old-school 8-Series.

YOU decide!

The complaints were numerous, and many were valid. But the 8-series' mission wasn't to tear up back roads, it was to grab attention on the boulevard - and nearly two decades later, it still turns heads.
