Yet Again!!!! GM has another Recall. This time 1.5 Million Cars

Question, how did you take her home in your Sonata if you were riding along with her in her car? Are modern day Hyundai's like the batmobile and can drive themselves to you based on gps coordinates?

why would it be surprising that the engine blew at 98,000 miles? That's a lot for any engine...especially since we don't know if she maintained the vehicle or not.

I just sold a 1999 Monte Carlo with that engine and 97000 miles. It runs like new. Most reliable car I ever had. But I took care of it, unlike some...

As for the social worker - they're supposed to be working in high crime areas, that's what they do. What's the beef? Does she deserve a special car or something for making her own choice? If you respect her so much, did you ever change her oil for her?

Can you tell I can't stand social workers? A self-righteous and judgmental lot, they are.

Yeah, but us Social Workers have become the glue that holds this crumbling Cesspool of a civilization we would otherwise call America together. You need us, we are worth more to you than cops are.

All cops do these days is: beat people for debating their inallienable rights, shoot people for not getting on the ground fast enough when requested, taze people for having beer bottles, get speeding tickets to pay for revenue that should have been generated from taxes, harass people with Rims and Bass Systems, Try to take advantage of young women, and bust people for casual amounts of drugs. All for Social control. When they actually should be doing real police work.

Sure, I dont agree with the way most Social Workers support gay marriage, the De-Masculination of the American male, support gun control, support the destruction of the traditional family through 2 parent employment by forced wage stagflation, etc.... Or are secret racists against some group,

However, we hold back the inevitable consequence of the Revelation of this empire= the burning down of America by the discontented masses for now.

I would say that neither of these two entities are evil or corrupt or bad? Every individual will always do what they perceive as the best course of action, conflicts arise when these perceptions do not align. To say social workers are self righteous is a stereotype in itself, but it probably is true. Now you just have to ask yourself, because these people like doing things that make themselves feel superior does that make them bad people? I think its a lot better then buy expensive sports cars or fancy mansions. As to police officer's, there are many self righteous police officers as well, and there are many police officers that volunteer their time to present infront of classes, and overall try and reverse their negative presence created from the more trivial aspects of their job... like speeding tickets, or depending on the person, casual amounts of narcotics...

Lexus/Toyota is not known for constant 1 Million+ car recalls every year though, unlike GM t_sotello. Lex quality has and is deteriorating fastly sure, but I do cover that.

I wrote an Article for WindingRoad about Yaris recalls below is the article.

If you’re like myself, a fan of gas sipping B-Segment Subcompacts. You have only these choices: Hyundai Accent, Toyota Yaris, Honda Fit, Chevrolet Aveo, Pontiac G3, and KIA Rio.

The Toyota Yaris is a competent B-Seg with its “Oh Iam 18, and daddy bought me my first car looks.” Plus Toyota’s percieved “legendary quality.” The Honda Fit is a great B-segment for someone who is more mature, and looking for that funky styling. However, Daewoo is working on those concerns, and will eventually be building cars eqiuvalent to circa 2001 Hyundais with their next gen-models ala: Beat. The Pontiac G3 looks 27 Billion times better than the Aveo who’s platform it shares, yet quality concerns are unknown. The KIA Rio looks Weird, yet with a Body kit that will set you back $3500-$5000. Now You’re talking!!!! Plus, it has The Reliable 1.6 Alpha Hyundai Accent motor in it, that should provide years of worry-free transport.

The other makes Such as: Nissan, Mitsubuishi, Suzuki, Ford, Chrysler, Mazda, and Subaru all sell B-Segments in other Nations outside of America. Yet, they all have a C-Segment car as their smallest car sold in America. The Segment is expected to get even more crowded eventually. Mazda 2, Nissan Cube, Suzuki Swift, Ford Fiesta, Mitusbuishi Colt, Dodge Hornet, all cars that are either confirmed or rumored to come stateside. Not to mention, in 2011 you will see: the Accent replacement (Hyundai i20 Variant), Next-Gen Yaris, Next Gen Aveo/Beat, Next-Gen KIA Rio (A Rendition of the SOUL having a Baby with the Hyundai i20) So let’s get back to the question I posed earlier. Can Toyota keep its subcompact edge in a time of Global Dominance?"

It was a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix, with a 3.8L engine, which makes it part of the recall buddy. Sure I have GM Bias, however, this article is true, and it doesnt reveal my GM Bias. It reveals my 3.8L GM powertrain Bias. If it was a 4 Cyl Ecotec or a Hybrid engine I would have been dissappointed in GM. This however, is good news to me.

But Joe, who wants to do 55-65 MPH to baby a car when youre going to get ran off the road? At least where I live at. Now the G6 and G8, those are appropriate replacements. The G8 has a monsterous exhaust, I said whoa when I heard it.

Personally, if Pontiac is going to be a Niche Brand, it should have 4 Cars. Call the Vibe a G4, and put a turbo on that Corolla motor. Keep the G6 and put a 2.6 Turbo on it or something like that. Keep the G8 the way it is, dont touch it. Have a Firebird or TransAm like sportscar, but call it the G12, and actually have a 12 cyl supercharged motor as an option with the Camaro turbo 4 banger as an option as well.

At any rate, recall or not, I have always found the GM 3800 to be one of the toughest, most reliable engines ever. It's not the most sophisticated or anything like that, but with a reasonable amount of care, they last forever.

Hey Smoke ... how appropriate that the day you start running your mouth about GM crap and Hyundai quality, Hyuundai announces 4 separate recalls that equate to just under 1 Million units. Fundamental stuff like front control arm corrosion, sub-frame corrosion, and rear trailing arm corrosion; all of which can lead to steering system components separating from vehicle while driving and causing loss of vehicle control. Also one for stop lamp switches that either don't allow stop lamps to come on when the pedal is depressed, or don't allow them to go off. Hope your Accent and your friends new Sonota aren't part of the group. Imports are clearly no better, and are perhaps actually worse! GM tends to do more without NHTSA telling them they have to, so they get penalized for being in the press more frequently. Most manufacturers would have never announced a recall of this magnitude voluntarily. Maybe you think it's better to know that you're buying a vehicle from a company who has to be forced into a recall like our friends at Toyota (can anyone say engine sludge)?!?
