The 3.

8 liter V6 engine has the potential to cause engine fires according to sources. The vehicles included in the recall: 1998-1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue, the 1997-2003 Pontiac Grand Prix, 1997-2003 Buick Regal, and the 1998-2003 Chevrolet Lumina, Monte Carlo and Impala. Note: some GM products today are still made with this 3.8 liter powerplant. Now, before I tell this story below. Imagine your wife or daughter driving one of these things.

I know this poor Social Worker who does great things for people, who got enticed to buy one of these things. Guess where her car is at now after 98,000 miles of service and $22,000 spent? Answer: The Junkyard. I was in the car with her when her motor blew up in a high crime area, I took the poor sobbing woman (and shes one of them tough mountain women) home in my Hyundai Accent. Guess what she drives now, and most of you wont like the answer. Answer: Hyundai Sonata (the very same car Motor Trend is still trying to run into the ground on their long terms tests and cant).

The question. Should we stick a fork in GM already or what?
