The Sprinter was engineered and built by Mercedes; the sole Dodge contribution to the project was their logo. Though it is versatile and unique, it could have used an injection of Dodge common sense. An aggressive gear ratio makes it very loud and thirsty on the freeway but also shockingly quick, and loads of suspension work make it handle well, at the expense of a smooth ride. Overall, the Spinter is about as far from American vans as you can get while still calling it a passenger van.
