After an exciting competition from Audi pilot Allan McNish, Stephane Sarrazin of Peugeot got pole position at the Le Mans 24 Hours last night. The qualifying sessions saw Audi and Peugeot head to head, with Audi setting the pace most of the time. In the second and final session, however, Sarrazin succeeded in going about seven-tenths faster than the fastest Audi to attain pole position. The grid is currently conquered by four Peugeot 908s with McNish’s R15 Audi in second position separating them.
