Let's keep it real. Vans are not cool. Never have been, never will be. Right?

I am not so sure about that anymore because some nut in the U.K. has gone and shoehorned a Ford Focus RS motor underneath the bonnet. And, according to the owner, he says he can churn out 310-horsepower given the right set up.

Would that make even a mundane work van fun? I am willing to say a resounding YES!

Is THIS Transit Connect the ultimate sleeper car?

A Fordtransit.org forum member reports:

"After thinking long and hard I feel it’s time to let someone else enjoy my Transit Connect.

Where can I begin????

The van itself is a LWB Hi-roof van and started life as a 1.8 Zetec and has been modified as follows :-

- 2003 Focus RS engine that had covered 26,000Miles
- Turbo Technics Hybrid T28 Turbo
- Forge Adjustable Actuator
- GRS Front mount Intercooler
- Custom Silicon Boost Pipes
- Blue-Flame De-Car
- Powerflow 2.5inch Custom Stainless Exhaust (With No Boxes)
- Focus RS Gearbox (With Quaife LSD)
- Omex 600 Standalone ECU (Fully Mappable)
- Cosworth 3bar MAP sensor
- Denso ITV24 Iridium Spark Plugs
- Focus RS Fuel Pump
- LPG Conversion
- Modified Inlet manifold (To Accept the LPG Injectors)
- Kenlow Hi-Flow Rad Fans
- Power 275BHP@18psi
- Mapped By Michael Woodford Motorsport (ME)
- Yokohama Prada Spec2 Tyres (All 4)
- Ford Racing Boost Gauge (Mounted in custom air vent pod)
- Sparco Evo Fibreglass Buckets On Custom Frames (Slightly tatty but not too bad)

This van ticks every box as far as van driving goes..."
