When I first hear my Blackberry chirp, thanks to an e-mail, I usually mutter something along the lines of "What now?!"
Although I uttered my usual phrase, my downbeat tone changed pretty quickly. That's because this message read a bit differently from the others, primarily because it said "Confirmed: Audi TT RS Coming To America."
But when I went to share my enthusiasm with a colleague, I received a follow-up along the lines of "Who gives a sh!$#?"
Here's the kicker: this person was a former Audi TT owner.
With that said, I've gotta ask now that the 360 horsepower TT RS is on its way to the States:
Is the Audi TT's 15 minutes of fame up?
When the first-generation car came out, it was a sensation -- particularly in England. Image conscious buyers snapped them up left and right, meanwhile they did not realize what they were really getting. Although the new TT has been out for a couple of years, they're not quite as common as the first generation TT, even though it is arguably better looking and even cooler than the first go around.
Now that Audi has finally created a properly beefed-up version, will it get the street cred it deserves or will the car price itself into a class where it cannot compete?
