Last night we put the spotlight on a piece about Lincoln, which as it seems right now is in a bit of a bad spot. Products are lackluster and sales aren't so hot.
However, there is a brand that does have it right; Cadillac. Say what you will, the marque has been making moves since the original Escalade was introduced. Suddenly rappers and athletes were snapping up the large sport-utility vehicles left and right, and rims became the next big trend. Following this was the CTS, which continued to bring in sales. Although it wasn't until the current generation CTS that the domestic luxury automaker caught my eye. Largely in part due to the CTS-V.
Now I know I'll catch heat about this from our commenters but I'd take a CTS-V over an E60 M5 anyday of the week. In my not so humble opinion, the brand has made some serious headway.
Backing this up is January 2011 year-over-year sales that were up over 49 percent.
Considering the ATS is on its way to do battle with the sales leading -- in the class -- BMW 3-Series, what else does Cadillac have to do to maintain its success?
Here are some thoughts:
1) Bring out an X1/Q3 small SUV?
2) Introduce a proper sports car? Not that XLR bullbird...
3) Compete with the S-Class with the new XTS
