Imagine a world without a valet: that means there's no more scratched or dinged-up vehicles, and you evade the whole element of your personal items getting stolen.
Now don't get me wrong, I am sure there are good valets but there is always a bad apple in every profession and working environment.
According to AutoWeek, an Israeli-based company, Unitronics, has been tasked with the job of building a 200-car garage in West Hollywood that's not going to be your normal parking deck. That's because it will feature a new, high technology solution.
To see EXACTLY what I am talking about, I suggest watching the video down below.
Though reports indicate that city officials believe they can fit more cars into parking decks this way, I am not so sure. Think of all the vehicles you could park where all of the sliding mechanisms go. Also, I hate to be the devil's advocate here, but what would happen if there was a technical difficulty? Likely that will happen at some point -- it's practically inevitable.
Where the valet guy can be just as much of a power broker as some big-shot producer--is going high-tech with its new parking garage.
The Southern California city has enlisted Israeli company Unitronics to build a 200-car garage on Santa Monica Boulevard that will automatically park and retrieve cars. Think RoboValet.
City officials say they hope to be able to put more cars into a smaller space, as well as cut down on emissions since cars won't drive to or from their parking spots, or sit idling at the cashier booth...
