I don't listen to AM or Talk Radio very often, but the other day I decided to turn on the Phil Hendrie show (Haven't heard of him? Google him cause you're missing out on some amazing humor!) and to my surprise, I was alerted to the impending 'Carmageddon'.
What's Carmageddon you say?
Well if you listen to the media, it's the scariest happening in the car world since, well, Noah and the ark.
If you live in LA, you already know how insane the traffic is and from July 16-18 experts predict the calamity of calamities is coming and they've nicknamed it 'Carmageddon'.
Basically, the 405 freeway is totally shutting down from the I-10 to the 101 during that time for repairs.
Here's what the LA Times says:
"The 411 on the 405: It's hard to say just how bad traffic will be when the freeway closes July 16 and 17 to demolish the Mulholland Drive Bridge to make space for building new carpool lanes. Northbound lanes will be closed for 10 miles from the 10 freeway to the 101 Freeway; southbound lanes from the 101 freeway to the Getty Center Drive exit. In addition, some ramps will close as early as 7 p.m. July 15, and some ramps and connectors may not reopen until 6 a.m. July 18."
And because of that, you can't go 30 seconds on a radio anywhere in LA and not hear about it!
They even echo the word 'Carmageddon' whenever it's mentioned!
Businesses are offering specials to 'avoid' Carmageddon.
It is completely crazy!
