GM expects customers in the US to buy the high-end versions of the automaker’s new full-size pickup trucks, as they also offer advanced safety options.

GM forecast a boost in sales for its luxurious GM Sierra and 2014 Chevrolet Silverado, each with a base price of $33,000. The ‘crew cab’ editions currently account for 50% of the Silverado sales and 60% for the Sierra, but GM expects 60% for the Silverado and 65% for the Sierra by the end of this year. These new trucks also feature several advanced safety options, such as forward collision alert and lane departure warning, which the previous models do not have.
