It's been an interesting two weeks for Jaguar and its F-Type.

While production units are just starting to hit dealers and make their way across the globe there was a recent hubbub over "patent" images that leaked their way onto the 'net. As I predicted, Jaguar attempted to distance itself by saying they were images of the concept that debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show years ago.

Regardless of what it was, one thing's clear: it doesn't matter anymore.

Fresh spy shots from the U.K. are showing the all-new F-Type COUPE testing just outside of the automaker's Gaydon headquarters. Well, I guess that should put this whole "Will they or won't they build it?" argument.

And I guess we should just end the party now when it comes to these spy shots. We're pretty confident it will look exactly like the concept CX16 that debuted years ago. Of course there will be slight changes to the production-ready car but you won't have to look too far from the F-Type drop-top to find those specific differences.

These are the first pictures of the Jaguar F-Type coupe, taken outside the company's HQ in Gaydon. Despite the camouflage - which includes a two-tone roof - there’s no mistaking this prototype for anything other than the hard-top version of Jaguar’s latest sports car.

The new model bears a very close resemblance to the C-X16 concept first shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show back in 2011, including the swoopy roof, which curves down towards the car’s tail...
