Last month Ford Mustang sold 10,263 units, down 9.9% compared with June 2012, but still managed to surpass the Chevrolet Camaro which sold 7,236 units, down 20.7%. Ford’s sales chief Erich Merkle said that the Mustang outsold the Camaro by a wide margin over the longer term. Beginning with 2004 Ford sold 1,020,123 Mustangs globally, compared with 345,026 Camaro vehicles sold during the same period, as the model lost a lot of time being out of production.
