When I am asked who is my favorite automaker and I reply, without hesitation, that it's Aston Martin some folks are perplexed.

But what about Ferrari? What about Lamborghini? What can I say? Aston's products just speak to me.

The latest to be revealed from the boys and girls from Gaydon is the Aston Martin GT12. To keep this brief, it is essentially a V12 Vantage that's been pumped up with even more power and is down on weight. Think of it as an Aston Martin GT3, which was its name until Porsche got all huffy about it.

Equipped with that trademark Aston V12 and a body kit that looks as though it belongs on a DTM racer, this is easily the most flamboyant auto to come from the company known for its grand tourers. So, how does it fair out? Evo recently took it out and set a lap time for a segment it calls Leaderboard.

While I don't think the results are overtly surprising, I will say that this vehicle has me swooning.
