It's been a bit of time since we last saw the Maserati Levante. For those of you needing a refresher, it's the all-new Maserati sport-utility vehicle that we've only seen equipped with a highly modified Ghibli body.

That all changes today.

The latest spy photos coming to us from abroad clearly show an SUV with traditional proportions with a sloping roofline. While we're not sure if Maserati will be attacking the likes of the BMW X6 and Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class Coupe, it's safe to assume it will be gunning after Porsche's Macan.

According to Autocar, Maserati's big cheese said that the Levante will make its formal debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. In addition, he noted it will be "different in every way" from the concept vehicle shown at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show.

That may be a shame because that vehicle seemed to attract a lot of love.
