Although on the surface it may seem peculiar that German luxury automaker Mercedes-Benz would produce a pick-up truck, it actually isn't. Just think about a couple things.

First off, Mercedes has produced trucks for years. This isn't something new to the marque. In addition, it does have a strategic partnership with Nissan who also makes plenty of heavy-duty trucks.

Second, remember how sales of the aluminum Ford F-150 performed? Sure, it's an annual sales killer; however, what happened this time around was unique. The luxury variants, like the King Ranch, were in super high demand that Ford didn't exactly see coming.

Luxury pick up trucks are in, folks.

That said, the three-pointed star is readying its concept for an October 25 debut in Sweden. Why, Sweden? I don't know. I am still asking myself that.

Check out the company's YouTube clip of its all-new pick up, below. Rumor has it Mercedes will name it the GLT but don't quote us on that.
