Spied: 4×4 Ferrari 612! No Kidding, Folks

Spied: 4×4 Ferrari 612! No Kidding, Folks
Science project alert! Ferrari is hard at work on their “Insertable 4×4? system, which looks to debut in the facelifted 612 Scaglietti. Our spy shot photographer, Hans Lehmann, caught the 4×4 612 in testing in Maranello, showing a meaner air intake setup that takes some cues from the 599 GTB Fiorano. Notice the stethoscope-like structures on the front wheels, which are used to measure wheel slip to determine how much power to distribute to the front/rear.

Click through for more photos and details of this new 4×4 system.

Provided this system doesn't add too much weight, I would completely understand why Ferrari owners in colder climates might be interested in making their exotic a year-round vehicle a la 911 Turbo.

I'm not sure. I live in a colder climate and if I had the disposable income for a Ferrari, I sure as hell would not want to be driving it around in the winter, 4x4 or not.

I understand where you're coming from. Still, what if you're just itching to take the 612 out for a spin on an unseasonably warm day in February?
