First Photos and Details of the 2007 Volkswagen Passat R36
Volkswagen today released the first photos of its upcoming Passat R36 model, slated to debut at the 2006 Essen Motorshow. While Volkswagen has not issued an English press release on the vehicle, we’ve learned that the Passat R36 will make 300 horsepower and will be powered by a 3.6 Liter FSI V6. To get the power to the ground, Volkswagen has employed it’s popular 4Motion All-wheel drive system. Volkswagen claims a 0-62 mph time of 5.6 seconds for the sedan, and 5.8 seconds from the variant model.

Everytime i look at a passet it just another rebadge A6. Wow its coming in all-wheel drive too. Looking at the lower left and right grill on both of the finner looks like the carbon fiber fins they use on an R8. The Grill in the middle just remind me too much of a A6. Has VW/Audi gone mad.

Be Quiet Please !!!!!!!

There are no similarities between the Passat & A6 (Different Classes for Starters)

There is nothing other than 4 Wheels/4 Doors & An Engine connecting the 2 Vehicles.

If you are Stupid enough to See a Rebadged A6 everytime you see a Passat (Not Passet) then you are beyond Salvage.

FYI: Passat is in same Class/Size/Category as A4/3-Series/C-Class/IS-Series

Yeah, I am a racist, watisthat. You know everything about me so you probably saw my face on America's Most Wanted. I'm wanted for racism, yeah.

Weak accusation man, weak.

This shares nothing with the A6 and it came out before the Honda Civic that DID copy the Audi A4 tail lights. Looks great and has awesome performance, looking forward to it but not sure if it will be sold here.

Looks ugly. I agree with nicehomer, I see a lot of honda civic in the design which isn't a good thing IMO.

It doesn't look like a Honda Civic at all. I can't see any resemblance.

I don't see a resemblance other than the grille, its curious that VW chose to apply this design element to its own cars at exactly the same time Audi began using it. Clearly it brings attention to the family ties...

Why do people claim that there a Honda Civic styling cues in this car? I see NONE.

I agree with Chewy and Bill.
The Honda civic looks nothing like the passat.
And if it does, the Honda is at fault for copying.
