Top Gear is the friggen best. They come up with things that we just never even think about over here in the US. This is a MUST SEE video, to friggen funny. I thought it was just going to be a joke, well the joke is on Ford, so sad. The thing is I like the Mustang but to get beat by a horse is just sad.

There's no question, that is definitely a V6. I love the show, but sometimes I think we Americans are the brunt of their jokes on their show.

That is a V-6. First go to the Ford website and see that all V-8 convertible models come with two different lights on the front. And second, did any one see a dual exhaust on the back. I could only see one.

That was pretty funny... watching the Mustang (the car) pull away from zero... more like from Driving Miss Daisy.
But more seriously... I've always enjoyed watching Top Gear as its a pretty funny show and I have all 8 seasons. But I haven't seen this particular clip... so whats happening here. Is this from Season 9?

i hate it when he doesnt say the right info. He thought that the U.S. wont see this clip so he tells everyone that this is the higher version...what the hell does the U.K. know the car isn't sold their. He has built us this perception of American cars, when the mustang is actually pretty sweet. If he used the GT it would of won easily.

You would expect Ford to have nailed the new Mustang, considering they have been fine-tuning it since the sixties. However, this new one is more show than go, a retro body placed on top of some pretty basic mechanicals.
Porsche has fine-tuned the 911 to perfection over 40 years, so why couldn't the Mustang be a little more on the money?

Its nice to see someone comparing a 911 to a Ford Mustang V6.

utahkid, porsche is the most profitable car company in the world.

Actually utahkid and Rupert can both be considered correct. Why? Because Rupert mentioned that Porche is the most profitable car company in the World. And as profitability is a measure of the difference between retail price less manufacturing cost as well as marketing cost, then yes, Porche does make the most money per car. They just don't sell that many cars overall.
But also, as utahkid mentioned, Ford does make a lot more money overall, ie., a higher turnover, obviously due to a larger product portfolio. But no utahkid, Toyota maybe a behemoth but they don't "net" 173 billion. Their Q4 net was about USD 4.3 billion. Turnover maybe the 173 billion figure you were quoting.
So as things stand, Porche along with Toyota, is one of the most profitable car companies in the world. GM and Toyota are the largest by volume and turnover. KIA (ugh!) is one of the fastest growing brands... between beemer and merc, the S-class has regained its lead over the 7 series for the volume in that sector but there are more cars sold with the BMW badge then with the 3-point Star. Funnily though, I've always felt that there are more Mercs on the road then there are BMW's. Its not surprising considering that in their class, its is generally acknowledged that the 3 and the 5 series are the leaders in performance... wish they'd improve the material in the interior though. Bring some style as how Audi does.
Where does this leave my beloved brand Alfa Romeo... for now, the fag end of no where... But now they got style on the outside and the inside and some serious underpinnings. Lets just keep the fingers crossed then.

Thanks "utahkid". You know what I mean. I used to watch top gear. But it gets ridiculous. It shows some people don't know the difference between the "Mustang" and
"Mustang GT".

This is a V6...you can tell by the lack of driving lights, dual-exhausts, the rear badge, and even the sound.
This is misleading...but entertaining nonetheless.
