i wouldn't buy it, but due the success of the 7L series i'm sure others would be interested.

I like the 5 much, and would rather have the long 5, than the 7. I guess the 5 drives better, but anyway it looks better IMO.

YEAH keep it in Asia... they wouldn't want the 5 to eat the sales of 7. 7 is a bit boring...

Well being the ugliest car in BMW's line-up & one of the ugliest car's on the road...I would never buy a 5-Series!

That said for those who can't afford to fish out another 10-30k for the 7 (which is alot) could go for this. Besides by the looks of it the luxury options in the back of this 5 surpass that in a 7...This 5 comes with two massive screens & the 7 with only one small screen!

The Rear seat electric knobs not only look terrible, there in the worse place imaginable...Ever think of mounting them on the door BMW? Even better just hide those hideous thing's! In fact hide the whole car!!

Well, I have a feeling because the Chinese-spec 5er can be so tricked-out, the 7 would be able to be done like this (or better), too.

Why don't we get any of the cool options?

No.
Most Americans would rather have a 7 series than a LWB 5.
The 5 series LWB has wierd seats, and stretching the car cheapens the image.
Theres no need for it as well, the 5 series is a drivers car.

I love BMW but this is a mistake for BMW to put in any market around the world that doesn't sell a 7. How long is the 5L's wheelbase, as long as the regular 7?
