BMW Thinking of a 4×4 MINI
It is being rumored that BMW is looking to produce a 4×4 MINI, taking the successful hatchback off-road where BMW is hoping that the MINI label can compete with the new wave of small crossover SUVs. If this plan goes through you can expect to see a fully developed concept version by 2009 and a in the dealerships by 2010. BMW is expecting the 1 millionth MINI to roll of the line in early 2007 at its Oxford plant.

Simply Ugly. All these potential models are rubbish. First the R-Class competitor and now the 4X4 Mini? Oh come on !.

4x4, come on! Off road? I wish auto companies would stop false advertising. They should stress all wheel drive for driving in the snow to the ski hill. How many buyers would actually take this princess hunting?Where is the gun rack?Yes I am a hunter.

I see no reason why the Mini line should not be expanded. I'm sure BMW is not considering a jeep, land rover type car, but why not a 4 door miniture X3. I just bought a 2006 MCS and although its not my everyday car, I'm loving it. The performance and value, plus the most fun to drive cool looking vehical makes the Mini very successful, Why not a 4x4, if BMW is behind the product the car will sell. I would highly suggest that all reader go test drive a Mini, you won't believe how easy and fun this car is.

Jochet, well said. But I beg BMW to refrain from marketing it as some kind of 4x4 adventure machine that will traverse through the rubicon and through rough terain. It's a cute car!
