a bit confused here..You claimed to be from Denmark (?) and here you relentlessly bash anything hybrid cars..I traveled through Europe many of times (92,97 & 99) and if, I remember..Denmark is supposed be the birthplace of frugality and one of the most energy efficient countries in Europe (Wind Power, Mdalle?). Now going back to the Prius..I think Danish ladies and gents would just absolutely love this car and you know this also. SULEV vehicle, hello? Danish folks are on a crusade for having cleaner environment at this time. You Mdalle seems just so damn opposite from the Danish folks mindset..Prius is would be adored there and you know it but very very strange you are so completely opposite.
Just an observation :)
Another thing: your observation and mine are alike as far as the design dept. of this thing. However, the car's overall functionality preceeds the looks..dear god, it is a hatchback for god sake and it does have to carry a battery in the trunk! (I honestly believe you are fan of hybrid/electric car but as most of the people in this site won't admitted)

That British dork is entertaining for the car world. Top Gear is one of the best car review / test shows in the world. I have yet to find one as entertaining. The presenters for Top Gear also are great.

That's because you're a Lexoyota fan and he didn't like a Toyota.
If it was a Volkswagen, for example, you'd be cracking up.

That's true. But that is a two way street. If it was an Audi, you would have a fit.

Great video!
This is what the car community thinks of Toyota.
Everything is true! It looks ugly, it's built from cheap steel and has horrible plastics in the ugly interior. It's slow and unsafe.
you can't argue with that!
Jeremy Clarkson is the most honest car critic in the world today. No American journalist would dare say anything bad about Toyota, which is a shame.
America needs to wake and smell the coffee. Toyota makes s**t boxes with absolutely no redeeming features for anyone who likes cars.
Brutal honesty at its best.

matthew is 1) an imMature kid, 2) a Moron, 3) simply uninformed, or 4) all of the above.
the prius is "slow?" last year only slightly modified, one clocked 137 mph at bonneville.

Matthew was teasing you Toyota fans there, but he was right with one thing: that generation Prius has a Fischer Price interior. I know this because my daughter had one. Traded it in for a Saturn a few years ago.

And, all the Lexus fans are now calling Matthew a "moron" because he speaks the truth about the Prius.
This is a new argument- Toyota makes unsafe cars. Look at how they're at the bottom of nearly every class!
And, this is icing on the cake- the Audi A4 beat out the IS on the UK's top ten most reliable cars, and the A3, BMW 3er, VW Passat were on there, too. The only other Toyota was the Avensis, I think.

Hmmm...do I detect annoyed Toyota fanboys in here?
If Clarkson destroyed a GERMAN car, you guys would love him. But since he had some fun destroying a Prius, you guys think he's an asshole.
It's just like the whole diesel issue. A German diesel is a POS, smelly, unrefined and slow, but a Toyota diesel isn't a POS, doesn't smell, is refined as hell and super fast, right? I love the hypocracy on Autospies.

Unlike many people here I am completely objective and have no bias to any brand. This is because developing an emotional connection to a brand can lead to error if you were trying to mathematically derive the best car for your purposes, which is what I do.
That said, Clarkson, when he said the Prius was unsafe, was referring to the fact that he felt unsafe because the Prius is made of light material to keep weight down and make the car more fuel efficient. However, there is more to a car's safety than just weight. Euro NCAP safety rating gave the Toyota Prius a 5-star rating. The safety benefits come from crumple zones and parts that channel crash energy away from the driver's cabin.
Clarkson is usually not accurate. In science it is necessary to perform experiements many times to average out errors. This is the concept of replication. But Clarkson often just tests something once and makes blanket conclusions about the car from that one test. The tests are also purely for entertainment often at the cost of scientific correctness. There is usually very little replication. There is usually no control group.
Clarkson is hardly accurate. If you ran a fleet company and your car purchasing decision is based on information from Clarkson's Top Gear, you'll likely go bankrupt.
