What do you think is the world's worst production car?

What is the world's worst production car. It can be 50 years old or 5 years old. You don't have to be able to purchace it but it must have been buyable at one point.

I already posted an article about the best production car, let's find out what is the worst...

I know we are gonna hear "Toyota Camry" and Lexus LS430" from the toylex haters, and "BMW 530i" and "VW Passat" from the toylex lovers. So don't even start.

I'm gonna say Chevrolet Vega. I owned one, and the engine melted. It almost fell apart over railroad crossings.

Pontiac Aztec next. No need for explanation.
Isuzu Axiom next. I looked on edmunds (curious) and a ton of people said their transmission failed and needed to be replaced. Ugly too.

Probably the current Chevrolet Impala. On its own, it's not a horrible car. But it epitomizes GM's lack of efficiency or design.

If you want me to just base it on the cars, the Audi Fox. Embarrassing.

The funny thing is, that GM asked IIHS to do a safety verification for their updated Impala (06) just to make sure it got "good" again.
Well, it actually did worse that the model replaced.
So the verified it was less safe than the vehicle it replaced.

I think the Charger is pretty cool-looking, and looks especially sinister with the SRT8 verison in black with black rims. It's a lot more interesting than any Chevy, Ford or Toyota/Honda competitor.

Quality is a different story, sadly...

Oh and, you say how the Charger is a good car, but you still said it was the worst of the worst?

Hmm...

I've had the lovely experience to have both a Charger V6 rental car and a 2007 Camry rental car at somepoint. The Charger was amazing. No quality issues as far as I saw. The backseat was HUGE! More room than a Lincoln Town Car! The V6 engine was great, I didn't even see the need for a Hemi. It was terrible on fuel though. In the Camry (in Kansas) it felt like it was impossible to keep the car at 85 mph. I almost got sea-sick from the floaty ride. marginal handling, a far below average for engine. It seemed like forever to merge on the highway at 25 mph, floor it, and reach 90 mph! It was excellent on fuel even though we were always flooring it too keep up with traffic. Interior build quality was bad. in our car. There was flasking on the door handles, and several misaligned parts on the dash. Seats were unsupportive but comfy.

so you're saying the camry 4 is a crappy car compared to a charger V6? why is this surprising?

next time try apples vs. apples.

So you are comparing a 2.4l engine to a 3.5l engine and say that the 2.4l is weaker. Lets compare the 3.5l engines available on both cars and see who comes out on top, huh???

I'm comparing the BASE ENGINE to the BASE ENGINE. The base Charger costs about 21K. Thats what we had. The LE camry 4-cyl starts at about 20K. Thats what we had. So they're about the same price. The charger just happens to have a V6, making it superior in performance.

The LE V6 starts at 23K. Thats above the Charger!
So it was a fair comparison, considering they both were base engines, and both cost about the same.

I THINK THIS IS SOOOO STUPID,( THE PREVIOUS POST AND THIS ONE! ) WHEN SOMEONE SAYS WORST PRODUCTION SOME DUMMIES ARE SAYING CARS FROM 20 YEARS AGO A VEGA OR ESCORT ARENT IN RODUCTION THERE OUT OF PRODUCTION IF THE QUESTION WAS WHAT IS THE WORST PRODUCTION CAR EVER THEN IT WOULD BE AN ACCURATE RESPONSE. SO FOR THE WORST PRODUCTION CAR, THE ANSWER SHOULD BE BASED ON RELIABILITY AND LOOKS NOT A PERSON NOT DISLIKE OF THE REMAKE OF THE CHARGER ETC... SO LETS GROW UP KIDS AND READ THE QUESTIONS AS POSTED AND IF THAT CANT BE DONE LETS PULL THEM DOWN ALL TOGETHER!

garbage.
crap interior, lifted straight from a tahoe, awful handling, bad looks, all in all, terrible.
mainly american things though in general. i've never heard of a ford pinto, but judging by the article utah kid showed, it's pretty bad.

Beautiful design, admirable heritage, behometh price tag of a true luxury car and Piece of Shit everything underbeneath the hood and anything electrical wiring. A car with worst reliability in the Automotive Market at this time w/o questions asked.

Drums, please..

Definetely and unregretably, I vote Mercedes Benz as the worst of the worst. Yes, even worsethan Pintos, Vegas and Yugos. Essentially these were manufactured and sold as a cheap and practically disposable cars...so that's just given..starting off w/low expectations. Unlike Mercedes Benz..are supposed to be a premium Luxury cars with finest engineering..my ass. highest expectations w/lowest return in satisfaction when it comes to reliability.

(Let me elaborate here. Purchased an ipod Video w/80 gigs for almost $400 bucks. Unbelivably..it came with a walmart headphones (almost useless). I discovered later that the reason was b/c people buy an ipod and dispose original ipod headphones for a higher quality one's. i.e. Shurer headphones. Okay my complaint is this. Why not have ALL quality crap inside of one package. If, I've payed 400 bucks..I deserve to have at least a decent headphones to come along with this product. I'm troubled by many American market strategists due to crap like this. A great player (ipod video) with Walmart special $5.00 headphones? In summary this is what the Mercedes Benz is like...You pay for a premium price on a product and receive a Wal-mart special reliablity for it).

Just a bad marketing strategy, period.

R&T (or C/D) had feature on one once. it couldn't go thru a full tank of gas without needing some fix or other.
