New BMW M3 to be hotter than first thought?

i have heard 414HP.. anyone confrim or deny that? or correct me.

That's the RS4 that has 414hp. They won't have identical numbers. The M3 will probably have less (closer to 400hp), because it weighs less and doesn't need more power.

Its got the carbon-fiber roof like the M6 too.....sweet!!!!

If BMW has done their homework (which I am sure they have) this M3 is going to lay waste to most of the competition in its bracket.

Well the RS4 has the advantage of 4 doors, which means anyone looking for a fast family car will probably go for that. BMW's sedan M3 won't come out till after the coupe so it'll be interesting to see what Audi does to compete with it.

No, I love the M3, always have. Just doesn't fit my needs as well as the S4.

the M3 will be cool but they are takeing way to long to come out with this car. the RS4 will almost be out of production before this car comes out. The new body A4/ S4 will be out in a year and the A5 will be more of i direct competitor with the S5

You think the M3 is coming out too slowly??? Are you joking? It's always AUDI that takes like three years into a car's model cycle, and finally, randomly, an RS car comes out! BMW gets their M cars in within a year (well, two or three for the M6, but that's different because it was a new model).

exactly, Audi fans will give credit to where it's due. No doubt the new M3 will be amazing. IMO I'll still take the RS4 anyday over an M3. But the M3 is still going to be a great car.

O, and Audi's answer to the coupe M3 will be the RS5 Coupe. I can't wait for the 4 door M3 to come out and have that get compared against the RS4. That's how it should be, 4 door against 4 door, and 2 door against 2 door.

Hmm for anybody to think that the E92 M3 will not obliterate the Rs4 you are a joke. The car will easily see 420HP and weigh in at under 3575. Lower and more centered, center of gravity. I love the RS4 but the M3 will trounce it all the way around the Nordschliefe and the dragstrip..

bmwreplicant - "oblitterate" is such a big word for you. I am sure they M3 will be faster. Why do you think it has been delayed for over a year. The M3 was delayed the same week the RS4 was anounced. The anouncement from BMW was that the car will be a V8 and be 419hp (funny how this anouncement came out the week of the RS4 supprise)

I hope the M3 comes out before Audi moves the bar again. Hurry BMW Hurry. Keep up

At least he said that he loves the RS4. I love this competition. BMW, Audi, Lexus, Mercedes- keep it coming! More power for pretty much the same money, give or take a few thousand! Much better for the consumer!

bmw does not care about a glorified vw.. you are right.. the bmw is in adifferent league when it comes to layout, balance, weight savings, steering response etc. the audi is a FWD platform, modified nose heavy slob. only foolish people who get marketed the "quattro" nonsense woudl ever buy this.. Are you morons aware that the only reason its frickin "quattro' is becasue they cannot make a rwd platform? they have to give this away for free. For any and all BMW owners current or past, this is the biggest laugh we get.. keep trying though.. amusing.

Audi is in a different league when it comes to layout (mid-engine), balance, steering response and feel with the R8 when compared to the BMW M3, M5 and M6.

Maybe they can make a RWD but they don't want to. But I can see how that point of view might be hard to take for some hardcore RWD fans that think nothing but RWD.

I'm a BMW fan, but there are several Audi cars that I really like. It's not 100 percent about brand loyalty. I don't know about you guys, but I don't get paid to post a bunch of nonsense about which brand is better nor do I get paid for driving the cars I do. It's about what model fits your budget and best meets your needs.

The M3, coupe and sedan, will be great, and I can't wait to see them out, but can we keep the flame wars to a minimum, this thread has actually been enjoyable to read until AmazingBimmer's comment.
