The new S3 is seriously fast,
When Auto Motor und Sport tested it on the track it was 2,5 seconds faster then the R32 and a full 2 seconds faster then the BMW 130i.

Absolutely correct, the S3 is really quick, it is quicker than the VW R32 that itself is quicker than the BMW 130i. The S3 is awesome and the R32 is very, very good, the BMW 130i not so much.

i think bmw fans are all waiting for new 1-series variants to be revealed, including a possible and long-overdue m variant to be released.

i do recall tiff and/or whoever in the videos claiming that the 130i is a more fun and rewarding car to drive on the tracks, a plus in my eyes.

you should also read european car's review (or could be compact cars' review) on the s3. it was horrible negative. i know i particularly enjoyed reading everything they had to say about the car.

There isn't going to be an M1 because of the original M1.
I have heard rumors however about a 135i with the turbocharged engine.

Crap compared to what. They both destroy the BMW 130i on the track/everywhere. I am sure that they will run circles around the IS 350 on a track with no problems.

(Chewy)You can't compare these 200hp econo german cars,to a 306hp sports sedan like the Lexus IS350.
As far as handling goes,the 3 series slightly out handles the IS350,but these two vehicles would not likely do so!!

This S3 has 260hp. It's as fast, or faster, than any IS currently on sale, costs less than an IS350, and certainly handles better.

Well, the 130 did the N-ring in 8.35. Thats 3 seconds only off the pace of a BoxterS. It is NOT 2 seconds slower then an S3. More like 0.4. The S3 is also boring to drive and was not a critical sucess, which the 130 was believe it or not. It's hard to have an opinion on cars that none here have driven.

I have, and I love my 130. 90% of an ///M3 for 50% of the price.

The new S3 is never been tested around the ring.
I was talking about Auto Motor und Sports handling track. Where the new S3 was 2 seconds faster then the 130i.
And have you even driven the new S3 to prove that it's boring to drive, seeing it is hardly even on sale yet.

The BMW 130i was much slower than the VW R32 and the S3 was quite a bit ahead of the R32. Conclusion: the S3 is a LOT quicker than the BMW 130i.

The S3 has 265 hp and the R32 has 250 hp. Both are sport oriented unlike the sedan IS350, that is why they would do better on a track.

Haha..Chewy don't get to excited, not to many people are worried about the 1-series or A3. They don't even sell the 1-series here in the states, and they barely sell the A3!

I see more and more A3s every day, and I'm happy that people are appreciating the little gem.

Stop it boys and Girls, remember the fact remains that currently more Audi A3's are sold than the BMW 1 or the Lexus. This is before the launch of the new S3, which I have driven, and can assure you that once you have driven the S3, you would not even consider buying either the R32 nor the BMW 130. S3 remains number 1.

I am the proud owner of an R32, have been to the advanced driving course at Kyalami in the R32, have now had 18 Golfs and want to ask all the S3 supporters " what are you going to be able to get back for your S3 after driving it off the dealer floor" that is the fly in the butter milk.

I would rather have an R32 anyday. That sound of the motor is fantastic. Can' say that about the S3 and the resale value??? Not for me thankyou. And, don't think because I am a woman that I don't know what I am talking about!!
