New Jaguar S-Type to be Named XF

i dont get people or mags sometime, especially when it comes to jaguar. the exact same mags that praised the s type's styling when it first came out, in reference to the next model, say the styling is plain and boring that makes no sense. the s type is a good looking car far from plain or boring it used to be the it car for jaguar and when it came out it stood out and attracted attention, but it just is old now a desighn like that doesnt age well. the problem it would seem is jaguar should focus less on styling and more on quality and glitches and resale value read the review on the $101,000 xkr convertible the top got stuck, the nav stopped working and this is a brand new car, i could imagine what would happen to it in a year or two. jaguar through the years tries new styling exercises and they fail and they go right back to the old way, judging by the sketches ive seen this car might go that same road. and its still on the same how many year old platform, it is outclassed before it is even introduced. jaguar needs a new parent company not that ford hasnt helped some with reliability its just it appears they cant afford to put up the money to make it succesful new engines, transmission, styling, interiors materials......

The S-Type should have been redesigned at least 2 years ago.

I knew that jaguar would name all their cars x-something. xk, xj, and now xf.

it was only a matter of time...

the car in that picture is a stretched xk on the side and looks even uglier than the present s-type from the front.

are jaguar having financial difficulties???

it looks like some one stuck VW passat headlights on a small audi grill, the melted it in a microwave. come on, i could design a better looking car!

No, it looks hauntingly like the current Chrysler Sebring. Type in "chrysler sebring sedan" on Google and see what I mean!

It is funny how the S-Type has gone from cool to crap in the eyes of many car fans in such a short time.

I still think it is a nice looker, especially in "R" guise with the mesh grille.

It still has the elegance of a traditional Jaguar but the design is very 90's. Perhaps i've grown to like the other cars coming out of Europe and Japan that makes this car look almost ancient. It's still looks very luxurious though. Once the new one comes i think it will be part of the rebuilding of the company. New models, new vision, & new direction in Jaguar design.

It seems like Jag has had an extra like 6 years to come out with a new S-Type, hell it better be amazing when it comes out. For some reason though I still like the old one we still have today, it just seems clean to me.
