2008 Nissan Altima Coupe Unveiled

2008 Nissan Altima Coupe Unveiled
Here is the Nissan Altima Coupe that I posted a month or so ago. It is official and will debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show tomorrow. But here are the pictures in advance. The coupe is 7.1 inches shorter than the sedan and has a 4 inch smaller wheelbase. It is powered by the same engines as the sedan, 175 horsepower inline 4 cylinder and a 270 horsepower V6. What do you think of the coupe's styling and do you think it will succeed in the market while competing against the Honda Accord coupe and the Toyota Solara? Click the link for full details and more photos.

Look like it has taken quite a few styling ques from the Infiniti G35 Coupe Concept.(especially from rear till the A pillar)

Looks nice.

I's rather have a BMW coupe.

But, I must say that is a beauiful looking grill.

Don't you agree it's an ugly car?

It might have decent fit and finish, but the cars lines do nothing for me.

I really think this is a nice design.

Well done Nissan!

I do wish automakers would ditch the whole idea of making every new car debut or concept release in silver. Give us black!

Oh and Will, no, it's not. Shows what you know about Japanese cars. This is FWD, like the Altima sedan. G is RWD. This also has a much smaller standard engine. It's an Accord competitor, not a 3 Series competitor.

THough I dont want to speak for anyone else, I presume Will did not mean to say they physically took the '06 G35 and put a Nissan badge on it (although I wouldnt put anything past Ghosn). But this car is such a rip-off of the current G35, it makes me think that its only purpose is to force current G35 owners to buy the new one, lest anyone think they are cruisin in an Altima.

You're completely right. I've never said the ES and Camry look alike. They just have personalities that are a little too close for Lexus to be comfortable. Style sells.

"Everyone here knows I have no personal problem with platform sharing, even if they did do it with these two (unlike the hypocritical VAG fans)."

Did you really have to add that last part? Besides, the only Audi that is REALLY just on a VW platform is the A3, and it's still a sweet little car. The others (Q7 and TT) have modified versions of the VW/Porsche platforms, something Lexus can't claim. Also, none of them have blatant re-badges like the LX/LC.

Very nice. But isn't this a little too close to the G Coupe in price and spec (at least for a V-6 version)?
