Acura Advanced Sedan Concept Revealed at LA Auto Show
Acura has unveiled its “Advanced Sedan Concept” at the Los Angeles Motor Show. The Acura Advanced Sedan Concept is designed by Acura’s Los Angeles-based design team who tried to give Acura fans an idea of what a feature Acura sedan will look like. Acura’s Los Angeles-based design team did this study hoping to create a stylish yet sophisticated car with a futuristic and mysterious presence. “During the past decade, several Acura vehicles have been designed and developed in the U.S. including the award winning MDX luxury SUV, the innovative TL performance luxury sedan and the all-new RDX turbocharged crossover SUV.”

Wow. Bluice is going to drool all over it, but this is the ugliest concept since that Tiburon accordian at the Hong Kong (wasn't it Hong Kong?) show.

Hideous. What were they thinking? They RL is ultra-bland, but this looks like a piano in the front.

Okay...?

Do you mean that as a compliment to Acura, or an insult?

I honestly can't decide.

Well when they put a V10 in this thing, the only thing you'll be able to see is the rearend of the thing when its zooming by you....which is the best part of it...:)

WOW!!!! As you can see, Acura is TOTALLY ahead of the game. They're thinking 5-10 years ahead of the game! I LOVE the way it looks, especialyl from the back, no joke. Better than anything Audi and M-Benz can dish out. This is a perfect mix of angular and wavy dimensions. Not to sharp like Cadillac and not to Wavy like Benz. Yum Yums!

I don't like V10 or even V8s. I always had a plenty power with V-6 engined cars and trucks. Acura should stick w/game plan with one of the world's most silky and quite V-6 they currently have under their belt. Reliable and powerful, why a V10? Acura don't need to make a statement to the world with V10s and V12s like Veyron which was built to make a statement, period. Peachnutjob from VW wanted a statement to the world and it was his idea for the Veyron which is being sold for over a million bucks but sad truth is that it costed VAG a whopping 4-5 million dollars to build each Veyron! This is not what Acura needs.
Some Shumuck-a-tilly having a testostrone powertrip and wanting to build 1001 hp car just to make a statement- no matter what. At least it should of had a VW or Audi badge instead of Bugatti which is a French Company.

Acura's concept cars are becoming very daring w/designs. Grill on a car is a pure visual effect. You DO NOT need a grill to cooldown your cars anymore unless you still drive 1950's cars. Hence, 1989-Q45 didn't have any grill but people thought it was strange w/o the grill and sales sagged like a dried-up prune. Therefore, Grill came back to the highlight of the design ever since. Just take a look at the Audiwagons. Well, its just for a show and non-functional. This Acura concept think tanks are at it again what the original Q45 attempted by getting rid of the grill and instead replacing it w/very geometrically opposed angles. Nice Concept. Perhaps too much isn't a good thing though....

The concept is just .... wtf.

but thank god Acura's production models usually look nothing like the concept.

As you might remember the RDX Concept looks nothing like the 07 RDX.

so did the last generation of toyota tacomas! i HATED the looks. and i'm a toyota owner/fan.

still, seems most people didn't mind. they still kept buying all those tacomas.

as for this creature, it'll be toned down. and in the metal, it probably will look better than the pics.

THe only idea i get from this is, that their newer car will have a long hood and small boot. That's it.

BTW Acuras are really nice.I like all their cars.

nicehomer has a point.

cars nowadays don't NEED grills. this concept looks like what it has instead, is JUST a SCOOP. like for a supercharger, or ram air. shoved down below the sight line, feeding a low profile engine.

i didn't like it either at first glance. on blown up pics, it's not so bad. still a little TOO advanced. maybe by 2012 it'll look cool.

This is the ugliest concept I've ever seen. Didn't they legalize pot in Cali? And isn't this where this design originated?

It a lot like the Honda coupe concept. Not much of a difference b/t the two cars.

I don't think it looks better than the Mazda concept.

they probably put a 4.3 liter V6 in it because Honda absolutely refuses to build anything with more than 6 cylinders

Finally....Acura is stepping up and is making a real attempt at being the luxury marque they should be.

Everyone said that if Lexus's styling ever got as good as their quality and reliability, then their sales and prestige would grow dramatically. It appears to be happening with the new IS, GS, and now new LS.
It appears Acura is following a similar formula. Acura is slowly getting away from the front wheel drives. Rumors abound in Acura developing V-8 and V-10 engines. The current Acura flagship RL lags in styling, and power....something this new concept seems to be addressing.
This design is very 'spaceship' futuristic and might follow along the same path that the 2003 BMW 7 series did, which is welcomed by innovative buyers(the minority) and hated by most.
I for one like these futuristic designs. Acura fans like myself can't wait for the actual production car design and the amount of high technology this car will offer!

I'm an Acura fan as well, in fact I been selling them for over 17 yrs., and yet its still very ugly.

However, we appreciate your loyalty and support and I agree that Acura seems to be progressing in a very positive way. We know that within the very near future, all of our cars will have SH-AWD. This will enable Acura to nolonger be hampered by the limitations of power output thru the fwd system. And if you haven't driven an RL, RDX, or 2007 MDX with the SH-AWD your missing out. It really helps with "turn in", actually giving you the feeling of a bit of oversteer.
