It should be noted that the 4.3 sec time is to 62mph not 60mph. 0-60 times is 4.1 sec according to the factory. What a beauty. Would take this over an R8 anyday if given the choice.

the R8 is more practical. I too would take the GT3 over the R8, but I don't see the two as competitors at all. For instance, the GT3 is purely track inspired (like the M3 CSL) and has little to no traction on wet surfaces and has a stiff and unforgiving suspension. I see the R8 competing with the 911 4S (similar performance specs and similar market segment) the GT3 is for driving enthusiasts...the R8 is more for the rich guy who wants a speedy chariot to get him to his house on the shore during the summer.

I'd say the GT3 rs is more like the M3 CSL made for the track, this thing is so money though because its perfect. I'd line up with this car against about anything really on a track and i'd be afraid of only a few cars on a drag race...or a stop light :).
