I was in my friends ES350 and the drivers seat was coming apart, back to service for that Lexus.

How big is your friend to cause a seat to come apart? unless he fights with it?

and no, i'm no fanboy. i have both a toyota camry and a bmw 330ci. i can compare from my end here. and the camry was great, don't get me wrong, but the bimmer blows it away.

no toyota has an interior on par with bmw its sad when people drive cars like that and have to make themselves feel important by comparing their low rent cars to bmw's.the is interior only looks like a luxury car with wood, without it just loads of cheap black plastic everywhere, the 3 series in "real aluminum" or wood looks high quality, and upscale as does the 5 series, and 7 series, but hey i guess anything to make yourselves feel better about a car that is always is behind, always copying, and always falls short of the BMW......quit telling jokes this is a car blog

Jake, how can you tell the "quality" of the interior from a picture? All a picture is going to help you determine is whether you like how it looks. But since you have ESP apparently, I'm sure you decided you didn't like the M3 interior before a picture was ever available, and as such all you need is a photo to determine the quality is terrible. Oh, you don't have ESP? Then you're just a typical troll BMW hater on Autospies. We'll add you to the list.

by the way, that's just a test mule car. That's a normal E90 interior, just with an SMG shifter and the M gauges. Aside from the shape and layout of the interior, which we've known since the 2006 E90's came out, those pictures aren't going to tell you much (and they'll tell you zero about the "quality" of the interior, but then everyone but Jake knows that already). The M3 likely won't have wood trim, and if wood is available it'll be a grain/color specific to the M (like the M5 has).

Man, that looks cheap and there is no way the wannabe race interior in a Camry is better than a BMW interior.

The BMW interior has a style and it's consistant with the manufactures motto.

BMW may make interiors that are worse than BMW and Mercedes, but they are by no means below par than the norm in the automotive in dustry. They are most assuredly better than Toyota interiors, but not Lexus. There is truly a quality difference between the two.

Although, I must say I love the new X5 interior, and it's definitely better than the RX's. I built an X5 3.0si online, and it came in a beautiful dark brown color with some very elegant wood trim choices (there's about six choices of wood and aluminum). Even the 6 Series's interior is comparable to the SC's, if not better. LS vs 7 is debatable. I think the LS's interior is bland, while in some colors, the 7 Series captures my interest. It may not be up to A8/S/LS quality level, but it can look as good. Again, only in some colors.

Will, without a doubt Toyota has the worse interiors in Germany.

funny how you guys compared Toyota's interior with BMW's interior. They arent even in the same class...none of the cars are...
A better comparison would be between Lexus and BMW, and IMO, Lexus generally makes a better interior than BMW.

Yes, but they can't. Their interiors, and their technology, aren't even close.

From a technological standpoint, no, BMW is not even close to Audi. Engineering is not technology. Engineering is engineering. Audi is beyond them in terms of engineering technology (Valvetronic is totally an FSI ripoff, DSG ripoff coming soon, twin-turbocharging).

When did I say they had bad technology? I just said they weren't up to Audi's level, and they aren't. I mean, look at Audi's motto!

And, no, BMW does not sell as much as Audi in Germany. Audi is Germany's (and all of Europe's) #1 premium automaker.

call me crazy, but is that newly designed SMG shifter perhaps indicative of the new SMG IV transmission? I've heard rumors that it might debut in the new M3, but nothing official...obviously i'm reaching here...

First of, this is not the test M3 Coupe, it is the Sedan. Check out the rear of the car, those are the sedan backlights. Yes, there will also be a Sedan M3. M3 (Coupe) is almost a year away from its official launch. So I doubt that these shots give a clear idea of what to come.

@ MaranelloMaster - The V8 engine of the M3 is actually a modified version of the V10 used in the current M5 and M6. M cars always have high-revving engines. For example E46 M3 puts out its maximum hp at 7900rpm and can go past that. But it is more impressive to make a V8 rev that much...

As far as the interior goes this car is still in the testing stage the final design is not going to be seen till production. The M badges will then appear as well as some upgrades to the interior. Its just the same as the exterior its still in transition. When the new Z4 was introduced as a concept car a lot of auto journalists were foaming at the mouth but the final product was a little bit different than what they originally saw.

And what do you mean, this "isn't the final product"? There's not much they need to change on the inside to make it into an M3. This could just be a 3 Series sedan.

That picture reminds me of a vanilla BMW 3 series interior.
