Spy Shots: Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class

Once again, more images of the upcoming GLK-Class have been spotted, with heavy camouflage. Judging by the shape, the GLK will be very boxy, as seen on many of the renderings found on the web. The GLK will be built on a platform based on the upcoming C-Class, similar to that of the X3 is to the 3-Series platform. There is a wide range of engines available, and the GLK will be equipped with 4Matic all-wheel-drive and a 7-speed transmission.

Nothing will happen to the ML (if that is what you mean by M).

GLK = compact SAV
ML = Mid size SUV
GL = Full size SUV

Mercedes needs to put their own thoughts and ideas into their SUVs. This GLK-Class looks like a Subaru Forester, the GL-Class looks like a Lexus GX, the R-Class looks like a Ford Freestar, and the G-Class looks like a cardboard box they found lying in the alley behind their factory.

Oh, and another thing. Which one came out first, the GX or the GL. I think it was the GX, which means, that Mercedes is now copying Lexus. First with the self-parking, now with their SUVs. At the rate they're going, the next G-Class will look like an LX.
