Last week the news of a Volkswagen V10 TDI Touareg pulling a Boeing 747 generated lots of comments here on AutoSpies and in other places. Well here is the video every one was looking forward to. It shows a Fifth Gear host actually drive the Touareg that pulls the Boeing 747. The pictures and the accounts of the amazing feat were incredible but the video makes it even better. That is simply amazing, I can't believe such a small SUV has so much towing power.

I mean look at the size of that jet!!

The V10 TDI Touareg also gets very nice fuel economy of 17 city and 22 highway. Not bad for an all wheel drive SUV [a very sophisticated all wheel drive system] with 310 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque.

Really is quite impressive. That is a tremendous amount of strain on an engine, and what makes the feat even more amazing is the fact the truck is new and barely broken in.

The cummins is 6.7 liters, the Touareg V10 is only 5 liters, the 6 liter Audi TDI makes 500 hp and 738 lb-ft of torque.

They added about 10000lbs of weight to the VW to give it enough traction to get the whole thing going. They also changed the low range gear ratio. Looks really impressive though!

They didn't change the gear rations. just selected the off road mode; the "low" gear.
