VW Stands Out in Latest KKB Best Resale Awards

Volkswagen of America, Inc announced today that the GTI, Eos, and Passat wagon have been named 2007 Best Resale Award winners by Kelley Blue Book. The annual award acknowledges automakers for achievements in the design, engineering and production of vehicles that best retain their value five years after introduction into the market.

Volkswagen was honored in three of the nine vehicle categories utilized by Kelley Blue Book: the GTI for the hatchback category, the Eos for the convertible category and Passat wagon for the wagon category.

KBB is forecasting which 2007 vehicles will hold their value the best in 5 years from now.

Why did I get a negative boost for asking such a valid question? Forecasting is obviously not nearly as accurate as knowing the resale value of a car AFTER 5 years. Who knows, the EOS could be ridden with technical problems in a year or two and no one wants to buy a used one. Their "forecasting" is ridiculous actually.

in the long run, they just PULL FURTHER AWAY.

as Euro brands start fading at 2 or 3 years. and americans from years 3,4 5.

at which point, they're all WORSE than toyotas, to say nothing of lexuses.
