the prius was the ONE high efficiency vehicle that has had long WAITING lists in recent times.

the writer was MERELY expressing his opinion/desires. maybe even wishful thinking. automakers will ALWAYS make what sells and makes profits.

it is american consumers that determine what fuel INefficiencies they are willing to pay for.

but the article is right. North america (without mexico) is the only place that still has big cars on it's best sellers list. ford f-150, toyota camry, all big cars. but why? your telling me there are that many people in the US who need an f-150, yet the rest of the world manages fine with golfs or corollas? bigger is better seems to be the ethos here.

It doesn't. The new Mini gets up to 40 highway and even the turbo one gets 27 in the city.

the camry hybrid should logically be the next HOT car in the marketplace.

large and comfy as many of us prefer. and yet delivering real world 40 mpg.

good to see large V8 pickups ARE declining in sales.
