Will EU Court Ruling PaveThe Way For a Porsche Take Over of VW?

Europe's highest court listened to closing arguments today in a landmark case that could end German carmaker Volkswagen's 46-year long immunity from takeover.
The case over the Volkswagen Law pits the determination of the European Commission to enforce rules on the free movement of capital against Germany's concern to protect jobs and save the national champion from unwanted predators.
A repeal would also open the door for Porsche to expand its control over the world's fourth-largest carmaker, amid speculation that a possible $10.6 billion (8 billion euro) capital increase at Porsche could fund a takeover of Volkswagen.
