Will the 2010 Audi R4 steal customers from the R8?

Pardon me, but is this the dumbest article anyone has read in a long time?

A 280hp $50,000 car cutting into the sales of a 420hp $100,000 car? Um, that's like saying the Cayman S is going to really cut into the sales of the 911 Turbo...I don't think so.

Buyers won't cross shop the two cars

Not to mention, if the R4 is using a mid-mounted 300hp V6, it will be a direct competitor to the Cayman S, contrary to what the article says:

"the same mid-mounted engine powers the Porsche Cayman and Boxster models, but they are not beeing considered competitors for the new R4."

Whoever wrote this article is class-A moron.

This is an issue I'm sure Audi has been following carefully. You have to watch this day by day to see which way it's going to go. You can never underestimate the needs of the high performance driver.
