Volkswagen Brand Beats Targets Ahead of A Tough 2007
Volkswagen's core VW brand surpassed its milestone targets this year ahead of what is expected to be a difficult 2007 on the way to fulfilling its ForMotion Plus restructuring program, it said today.

"The next year will not be an easy one for the Volkswagen brand. The new products are still in development, so we cannot expect any help from sales. Rather we must concentrate on putting our processes in order," VW brand chief Wolfgang Bernhard said in a Christmas letter to staff.

Requires a log-in to read the article.
Not surprising though .. their fiscal restructuring was very agressive.
When the plan completes, VW's profits will likely be greater than the sum of "the Big 3" combined, but still a fraction of Toyota's

Its called a POLO.
Or better yet, the LUPO.
That's 2 sizes of cars BELOW the Golf.
Unfortunately, they don't sell them here.
Nobody knows why ... I've determined that its not even worth trying to figure out VW marketing....

The Rabbit/Jetta is a fairly entry level car.

Just more expensive than the competition. VW is an upscale brand, above Toyota, Honda, and Nissan.

They will do just fine.

Yeah, seems that way...

Compare the drive or interior quality of any VW to a non-lux competitor, and you'll see why their prices are so premium.

Jetta and Golf city version is only avail. in Canada...

You are stupid, by saying they are charging upscale prices w/o offering upscale quality. Have you sat on the new Rabbit and Passat yet???

Listen to yourself, you are bitchin' about a Rabbit or Passat being upscale. Upscale to what, Yugo stopped making cars.

Why has VW's gotten so expensive, i would have thought they would want to be further down market from audi.
