Early Presents Under the Tree! Confidential 2007 BMW Z4 and Z4M Pricing!

These prices are ridiculous. I have just looked the price of the BMW Z3 Roadster 3.0si up. In Belgium the base price is €43,200 which is converted to USD about $56,160. Look at the base price on this list it is under $40,000 which should be €30,768 which is about €13,000 or $16,900 cheaper than in Europa approximately? How accurate are the prices in this list? Are this prices for dealers? If for dealers these are outrageous margins.

those are U.S. prices, and BMW's don't cost as much here as they do in Belgium. Base MSRP of a Z4 3.0si, for example, is $40400, so nowhere near $56160. In fact that's roughly what MSRP would be for a fully loaded M Roadster. The cars have about a 7.5% markup between wholesale and MSRP.

I though that these cars were manufactured in Germany or am I wrong? Belgium is a country next to Germany so why would it be more expensive to buy a BMW Z4 in Belgium than to buy one in the US where they have to import the BMW Z4. I think that it is even cheaper for my to buy a BMW Z4 in the USA and have it transported to Belgium.

EU countries include a 16-19% VAT (value added tax) on the cars.

prices on the 2007 Z4 and M-Z have been out for months, the cars have been on dealer lots since October.

What's the difference between the hideous Z4 3.0i and the hideous Z4 3.0si? I didn't bother reading.

Even though both TT models are quicker, better-looking, and generally crush their Z4 competitors in comparison tests.

But the Cayman anihilates them both.

i disagree that the z4 is hideous. it is "ahead of its time", just like the entire BMW range. i like this futuristic design. the new 3-series coupe has more conventional, surrent day styling so critics aren't criticising its looks.

the tt had conventional styling as well. looks a bit like a ford focus though? doesn't it???

(quicker) wrong, (better loking) subjective, and (crush the Z4 in comparison tests) most magazines didn't even include the TT in the comparisons because the TT wasn't a real competitor until now. The new one I'll give some credit to, but only because the last one deserved none and was such a girl car. At least I assume that's what Audi was going for with it, since they stole the styling from the New Beetle and 90% of the old TT's were driven by women.

should have been called mz4. sounds cooler and more in line with m3, m5, m6. but... if BMW build an m version of the x5 will it be mx5 (for those of you who don't get that, there is a mazda called the mx-5 (miata))???
