If the shell weighs, say, 5kg - and the moped with rider weighs 200kg - and the muzzle velocity of the shell assuming the moped DOESN'T move is 800m/s...
THEN, if you were standing still without the breaks on and fired the gun, the shell would move forward at a speed of 400m/s and the moped would move backwards at 10m/s, or 36km/h!

at a military vehicle museum, i saw a bmw(?) with a frame mounted heavy machine gun.

it had to be PARKED however, to actually use the weapon.

fwiw: toyota and nissan pick 'em ups with machine guns mounted in the beds have been very POPULAR and EFFECTIVE weapons in asia, mid-east, and afrika.

So you're motoring along a 35kph and suddenly you see something that absolutely needs to be blown away. I presume the trigger is on the hand grip somewhere. You pull it and the recoil stops you dead in your tracks! You go flying over the handle bars and next thing you know, your staring down the barrel of your own smoking gun!

If that was a rocket launcher or whatever it may be does fire one round, he/she will not be able to reload. Hell, forget about reload the rider would be blown off the moped anyways.
