Hit or Miss? 2008 Malibu

This car will be a hit for GM.

A hit for the average American customer, but a miss to compete against the Japanese. Then again my comment might be premature since I have not yet seen the whole thing.

The Malibu will have 252 HP.

Another company copying the VW/Audi large front grill. This however doesn't look that good. I had high hopes for this.

This thing is gonna look so nice, definate hit. I'm sure it will eat a hell of alot more toyota sales. Can't wait to see this and the new impala

I agree 100%. I'm going to love to see sales slip from the Japanese.

The headlight look really simple and about 7 years old.

At first glance, it looks bad, but now that I look carefully, it's not too shabby.

Don't like it, I think it will look much better if they take the top grill out. For a GM product not bad, not bad at all, but still no where near a the Camry, Nissan and Accord.

If it was baseball, I'd say it was a solid stand up double....now lets see if the rest of the GM team can get the run across home plate..I like it..amazing what GM can do when they fracking need to,,now bring that Holden Caprice to the states and ya got a power hitter...good show GM

I would call this a walk/infield single.

Won't the Malibu be based on the Opel Vectra and that's why the grill goes from top to bottom.

I like the German inspired bonnet.

On second thought this does remind me of an A4, can you see how the trunk is and plus the grill.

I don't know if I would call it a hit or not. It looks good until you see the grill, which looks like an HHR.

I wish they could design a decent midsizer... this looks like a speedboat.

First off, I'm glad to see GM hasn't decided to use modern, futuristic-looking projector headlights, because that would be too much. Much better to have a dated halogen-style set-up to make it look more American.

Second, it looks like a sedan that wants to be a truck.

leave Tahoe styling cues to the Tahoe. Please.

It just looks years behind the competition. I can't help but say it. Although GM has leaked an interior picture, and that looks promising.

The design is a bit different, but is neither pretty or interesting. Pity.

Screams rent me at the airport. Improvement, but how could it not be?

Absolute miss. Looks cheap. I have no faith in domestics.

Last year, the Chevrolet Impala beat the Camry in initial quality, according to J.D. Power & Associates. And Consumer Reports just announced that both the Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan scored higher than both the Camry and the Honda Accord this year.
I can't wait until the perception catches up with reality...
