Used Chrysler Diesel Sells for More than New Gas Counterparts in UK

Used Chrysler Diesel Sells for More than New Gas Counterparts in UK
After early doubts, resale values for some Chrysler 300C models have risen to the point where a used diesel model is priced higher in the UK than when new, the local sales unit said.

“Excellent auction results for nearly new vehicles prompted CAP Monitor to improve their residual value forecast considerably in September, while in their December edition, Glass’s Guide indicates that the price of used diesel 300C saloon is now in excess of the list price of a new car,” Chrysler UK said in a statement.

Glass’s suggests that a 06 plate 300C 3.0 V6 CRD saloon with 9,000 miles will retail at £27,500. (List price new: £26,250.)

Why would anyone buy used, if a new one is cheaper?

Probably because there is a shortage of new ones, so you can't get it right now, or because there is dealer mark-up, (not sure if UK has that Rupert help me out here)

i think there is a shortage or a waiting list. this car has been more successful than previously thought, so chrysler are very happy. they're doing way better here than cadillac; i saw my first cts today. ever. i see quite a few 300cs. not a common car still, but i see many.
