Lexus IS250 Aces Australian Crash Testing

Lexus IS250 Aces Australian Crash Testing
Lexus IS250 has been awarded the highest rating of five stars, for driver and passenger protection in Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) tests released in November.

IS250 boasts an impressive array of vehicle safety systems, with eight airbags as standard and including world-first twin-chamber airbag technology. It has a new twin-chamber SRS front passenger's airbag and driver and front passenger's SRS knee airbags. The front passenger's airbag is designed to lessen the impact of airbag deployment on the front-seat passenger.

lexus is nice, but far from the best of the best. they are good at what they do, but they will never be able to topple the german giants so long as the german giants keep pushing the envelope, while lexus seals them.

German giants? They keep pushing the envelope? All they do is over price their cars and snooty and snobby folks buy them. Just a miniscule of enthusiast buy BMW for the rest ..its all for show -- people who live beyond their means. You should read what millionaires buy nowadays.

Its known taht the germans are very innovative with their technology, no doubt about that. BUT...... the japanese are very good at taking others ideas (which is nothing wrong with that), especially in the car industry. Who cares who came out with what first.... its a car.... thats likes saying mercedes invented the seat belt, which they did, and saying, "no one makes a seat belt like mercedes" people do that here and its the most idiotic thing. Some people need to learn to give props where props are due..... So who cares if the japanese steals it. 99% of the time they do it better than the Germans because they make is 100% more reliable, so its actually usable 100% of the time..

People won't like this post at all but I don't care....

I don't thnk he was necessarily disagreeing with me.... I'm more of a Mercedes-Benz fan than toyota fan. I love German engineering. I just get tired of people saying how lexus copies from the germans all the time. Do they? yes, but everyone here seems to make a big deal about it when no one else cares. Lexus does not make good sports cars or sports sedans at all. I love lexus but I think they missed the mark in the sports segment. I also think they intended not to be sporty and be more luxurious. Now they are trying to stab in the sports segment minus the 1st generation IS.... And I respect them for that.

First off, this is a press release from Toyota Motor Corp, great job for the IS no question, and second..from the Toyota Motor Corp press release "The IS250 was one of only a handful of vehicles to achieve the five-star rating for driver and passenger protection.." So other cars also achieved this monumental miracle...who are the others?

This is just another attempt by autospies to fuel the fire of debate between the Toyota Fanboys and the rest of motoring enthusiasts...job well done..how very tiring..

MDalle,

Could you please stop being such an ass?

We get that you don't care for Lexus fanboys. We get that big time. I don't either, but your argumentative crap is just as silly.

This article mentions the Lexus scored well in a crash test. Why does that bother you? Why do you feel a need to mention that other cars have and might pass the same test? Who cares. That's not the subject of this post.

I suggest staying out of articles mentioning Lexus, you seem to be threatened by them.

The thing is, people like you don't respect Lexus. That doesn't mean you have to own/like a Lexus, just aknowledge that they are in the same league as the other luxury players.

I love the Lexus brand. That doesn't mean I don't love some German brands too. (I do!).

I wish people like you would realize that you can talk positive about something you like while not knocking a competitor for no reason.

Just because the story titles are misleading, and fan boys from both sides like to show their ignorance, doesn't give you a free ticket to be the self-admitted asshole you are.
