The Best Luxury Cars Between $35K and $45K

To generate the list, BusinessWeek.com took a look at luxury vehicles available in the U.S. that carry base prices between $35,000 and $45,000. These autos, from both foreign and domestic luxury brands from BMW to Cadillac, begin pricing where many midrange and premium vehicles end, fully optioned.

Each vehicle in the categories chosen was assigned points for the most common factors in deciding to purchase a luxury vehicle: cost, total cost of ownership including vehicle depreciation over five years, fuel economy, and engine power. Additionally awards given by automotive magazines from Consumer Reports to Car & Driver as well as BusinessWeek's own reviews were taken into consideration.

Come on, the article is about the MOST AFFORDABLE LUXURY CARS, NOT THE BEST LUXURY CARS between $35k-$45k, hence their title "Luxury for Less". There is a difference.

I think it was European Car of the Year.

You know, I think they left out one important factor: options.

You can have the base price start at 38 or something, but with options it'll skyrocket. Or you could have some that are completely equipped for under 45... BMW and Mercedes are notorious for nickel and diming you to death. Acura, otoh, includes almost everything standard. (That is not a flame, just pointing out a fact).

are you kidding i never give a es a second glance, actually i can't really remmber what they look like. Are they the ones with the open fish mouth up front, kinda buickish with a hint of late 90's chrysler. Wow, i'm getting sleepy just thinking about it.

renlex495, the Lexus ES350 is nice but as much as I don't like the 5 series myself, the lexus isn't better infact... what made u compare them, there 2 differnt type of cars
