Mazda announced today that it has too joined the bandwagen of offering iPod connectivity in its vehicles. Mazda said that all six models in the MX-5 Roadster Coupe lineup will feature an option for iPod connectivity. Mazda is also taking it one step further by offering a free iPod Nano with the purchase of the iPod connectivity option. “We are delighted to announce this upgrade for the 2007 Mazda MX-5 Roadster Coupe,” said Rob Lindley, Managing Director Mazda. “Demand for this new model is very strong and will be boosted further by equipping every Roadster Coupe with both iPod connectivity and an Apple iPod Nano as standard.

Kinda like the XJ8 deal where if you buy one this holiday season (I believe it ends in early January), you get a free black RAZR and iPod Video (both, yes), and both of them have "JAGUAR" engraved on the back. Cool, but not enough of a sell point to buy it over the $2,000 cheaper LS460- you have to really want the looks.

Truely these gimmicks are ridiculous!

To make things worse, i'm sure this actually is helping their sales... hey, buy this $25,000 car and we'll give you a $200 ipod!! OMG!!
