New Toyota Auris achieves five-stars from Euro NCAP
The new Toyota Auris has been awarded a best possible 5-star crash safety rating from Euro NCAP. The strong body structure, which allows minimal cabin intrusion, and the fitment of up to nine airbags add up to outstanding passenger safety. In particular, the combination of a driver knee airbag and a collapsible steering column led to the 35 point, 5-star result for adult occupant protection.

A key benefit to Auris customers with young children are the standard ISOFIX anchorage points on the outer rear seats. These helped gain a four-star rating for child occupant protection. Euro NCAP also awarded the Toyota Auris a class-leading three out of four-star rating for pedestrian protection.

the toyota yaris has 11 airbags in europe.
and 5 stars for the auris? it's almost "so what?".
the 1 series, astra, a class, citroen C4, renault megane, and golf all have 5 stars too.
and "All the germans know how to do is put 12 and 14 aribags in their cars with no result"
yeah that's a really clever, unbiased statement.
the 3 series, c class, passat, a6, e class, x5 and touareg all have 5 stars. but the rav-4 doesn't....
however toyota and lexus do have an impressive safety record.

All Toyota/Lexus fanboys on this site know how to do is bash German cars. It's getting old and terribly stupid by now.

By the way, this clown sounds like a dumb little kid.

maybe this WOULD NOT HAPPEN if the german fan boys were NOT always bashing lexus/toyota?

for every action, there is a reaction. (i don't suppose you mite be "a dumb little kid" yourself?)

Hey, I admit, bashing Toyota or Lexus if fun, especially when I see some posts from Toyota/Lexus fanboys bashing a European or American product. Sometimes, the best defense is a good offense. ;-)

Nope, no 280 hp V6 as that engine only makes 256 horsepower or something.

If it's the 3.5 liter found on the ES350 it would be producing 272hp..

It'll need those 5 stars. This car looks so boring, it'll suzzle its occupants to sleep while driving.

Hey Bill you sound like a bitter old man,oh I'm sorry, you are a bitter old man!!Why don't take a drive in your Mercedes, and look down on people who drive less expensive cars, that will make you feel better!!

2JZSoarer, I'm not that old. I don't look down on people who don't drive luxury cars. You on the other hand seem to LOOK DOWN on people who don't drive a gussied up Toyota, I mean, a Lexus. ;-)

ApexAlex: suzzle is a word I made up. Actually, my grandmother always used it to describe the process in which man becomes tired and slowly falls asleep. Family tradition if you like. ;-)
